Metrolina Nephrology receives NCMS Plan’s Practice Wellness Grant for helping employees become more aware of their current health status and actively taking steps to maintaining and/or improving it. Metrolina Nephrology Associates, PA has been awarded a $10,600 Practice Wellness Grant from the North Carolina Medical Society Employee Benefit Plan (NCMS Plan) for encouraging wellness and good health practices among its employees.

To qualify for the grant, MNA secured executive commitment to a corporate mission that included a vision of optimal health for patients and employees alike. They agreed to create a work environment that supports healthy lifestyles, adopted a tobacco-free worksite policy, and offered onsite group nutrition education sessions.

To encourage participation and help employees offset the increasing costs of health care, incentives of up to $1200 were offered for participation and for meeting certain health standards, such as being tobacco free, having a body mass index less than 30, etc.
