Women’s Health Alliance, P.A. Earns NCMS Plan Practice Wellness Grant
The Women’s Health Alliance, P.A. (WHA) has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the North Carolina Medical Society Employee Benefit Plan (NCMS Plan) for encouraging wellness and good health practices among its employees.
At WHA, their most important asset is their associates and therefore have partnered with the NCMS Plan to initiate a wellness campaign that provided employees and their family members with opportunities and incentives to achieve and maintain good health. To qualify for the grant, WHA pledged to create an environment that supported healthy lifestyles; had its employees complete a health assessment, an annual physical and a biometric screening. In addition, each employee was encouraged to attend a 30-minute healthy living educational seminar.

“We believe strongly in providing our associates with opportunities to make better health care choices, with an emphasis on personal accountability,” said Robert Littleton, MD. “As a health care provider, wellness opportunities for our own associates make sense from a number of perspectives: our concern for associate well-being, addressing health care costs and serving as a role model for our patients.”
“When we were offered the opportunity to create a wellness program, we were excited to take the challenge. The program continues to garner strong support from the WHA Board of Directors and is in the process of planning ahead for year two.”
